Clare Kruger

Clare Kruger is an attorney at the Juvenile Services Program within the Community Defender Division at the Public Defender Service (PDS) for Washington, D.C. In this role, Clare represents committed youth in administrative and family court proceedings and addresses conditions of confinement in the District’s youth detention facilities. Before joining PDS, Clare was a legal fellow with D.C. Lawyers for Youth. Clare graduated from Georgetown University Law Center in May 2014. At Georgetown Law, Clare was a Public Interest Law Scholar, a Public Interest Fellow, and a student attorney in the Georgetown Juvenile Justice Clinic. As a law student, Clare clerked with PDS, the San Francisco Public Defenders Office, and the National Center for Youth Law in Oakland, California. Before beginning her legal career, Clare tutored and mentored young inmates at juvenile facilities at home and abroad. Clare received her B.A. in political science from UCLA in 2009.
