Fasika Delessa is currently a paralegal with Maryland Legal Aid’s Community Lawyering Initiative. She works with her team to bring free civil legal services to individuals throughout Baltimore City and statewide with the rapidly growing Lawyer in the Library program. Before joining Maryland Legal Aid, Fasika enjoyed interning in the Parole Division at the Public Defender Service for the District of Columbia (PDS), where she was inspired by the zealous advocacy of PDS attorneys who represent citizens in hearings before the U.S. Parole Commission. A recent graduate of the University of Maryland, Fasika hopes to continue her studies by attending law school and continuing in a career of public service.
