Nikki Woods

Nikki Woods has been practicing law for more than 13 years. She has spent the last 10 years focusing on advocating for children. Nikki has worked as a parent advocate for New York State’s Early Intervention Program, as a service coordinator advocating for children with special needs, and later as a special education attorney representing children who were not receiving the services they needed at school or who were facing school suspensions. She also worked at the NYC Department of Education representing the interests of students who had been physically, mentally, or emotionally abused by their teachers. Nikki currently works as a Senior Trial Attorney at New York County Defender Services in Manhattan in its Juvenile Defense Unit where she represents juveniles facing criminal charges in criminal court and family court. Nikki is also a long-time board member of the Lower Hudson Valley Chapter of the New York Civil Liberties Union, where she focuses her advocacy on ending the school-to-prison pipeline.
