Sascha Atkins-Loria is a social worker with the Alameda County Public Defender’s Office, where she has been employed since the program’s inception in 2014. She has worked with incarcerated populations since 2010. Sascha is currently stationed in the Alameda County Public Defender’s Juvenile division, where she prepares mitigation reports and provides testimony to prevent youth from being transferred to adult court, or from going to youth prison. Sascha co-founded the Alameda County Public Defender’s VOICE program in 2016, a project that facilitates the registration of incarcerated voters inside Alameda County’s county jail. Sascha received her MSW from Smith College School for Social Work in 2014 and is currently a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in California.
