Shomari Ward

Shomari Ward grew up in Brooklyn, New York, and received his Bachelor of Arts from the State University of New York at Albany. Shomari worked for years at community-based organizations focusing on youth development before pursuing a career in law. In 2010, Shomari earned his Juris Doctor from the Howard University School of Law. Shomari worked as an attorney at a corporate law firm in Manhattan where he focused on a broad range of complex commercial litigation. Shomari then joined the Legal Aid Society’s Juvenile Rights Division (JRD) in 2014 and currently serves as a JRD staff attorney representing children. In addition to serving as an attorney in JRD, Shomari facilitates trainings on race, class, and community issues for JRD staff.
